There’s a lot of fluff out there about making money online — but if you’re serious about building income that’s sustainable, here are the real methods that actually work. I’ve tested these myself because my main sources of income are through blogging, affiliate marketing, and selling digital products, and these are the top ways I recommend to anyone starting out:
1. Blogging: The Long-Term Income Machine
If you play it smart, blogging can turn into a serious money-maker. I know bloggers pulling in $30k to $50k+ per month, and it’s not just from writing posts — it’s about strategy.
P.S: This is my main source of income
Here’s how you make money from a blog:
Advertising: Platforms like Mediavine or Raptive will pay you for traffic.
Digital Products: Think eBooks, guides, courses — all sold directly on your blog.
Affiliate Links: You recommend tools or products and earn commission when readers buy.
The best part? A single post can bring you passive income for years if it ranks well on Google.
2. Affiliate Marketing: Low Risk, High Reward
This is one of the most flexible ways to earn online — and you don’t even need a website to start.
Platforms like Pinterest are incredible for this. You can create pins that link to affiliate products, and if one of them goes viral? You can make money in your sleep.
Examples:
Link to an Amazon product
Recommend your favorite digital tool
Use an affiliate link for a travel booking site
You earn a percentage of the sale, without having to create the product or handle support.
3. Selling Digital Products on Etsy
This is one of my favorite forms of passive income (I’ve been doing it since 2021!). You create something once — like a planner, template, or guide — and you can sell it again and again without shipping or inventory.
Why I prefer Etsy over something like Stan Store:
Etsy has a built-in audience — people are searching for products already.
You don’t have to drive all your own traffic or rely 100% on social media.
Their SEO system helps the right buyers find you.
With Stan Store, you’re responsible for 100% of the leads — which can work if you have a big audience, but Etsy makes it easier for beginners to grow with less pressure.
Final Thoughts
Making money online is real — but the key is to pick a method that works for you and be consistent. Whether it’s blogging, affiliate marketing, or Etsy, you’ll need to learn the platforms, create great content, and think long term.
